The premier anchoring fastener for threaded rod is the Hangermate™ system.  This innovative family of fasteners provides solutions for installations of sprinkler systems, HVAC, strut, and pipe systems.  The fastener consists of a screw whose head is either end-drilled (for vertical mount) or cross-drilled (for side mount) to accept ¼-20 or 3/8-16 threaded components.  There is also an adaptor available allowing for installation of ½-13 diameter threaded components.  A variety of thread and point styles are readily available, depending on whether you are installing into steel, concrete, masonry, or wood.
