As their name would imply, Machine Screws are most often used in machinery to fasten various components together. They are utilized in pre-drilled holes that are often tapped with coordinating internal threads to engage the Machine Screw’s external threads. Alternately, they may be used in through-holes mated to a nut on the opposing side.
